The Synergy Unit addresses interdisciplinary questions, fosters the exchange of knowledge between individual projects, and conducts overarching activities.
The key issue is how research into Foundation Models can be advanced as quickly as possible across disciplinary domains, and ensuring the initiative's long-term impact for the common good. Special emphasis is placed on methodological issues related to understanding how such models function, such as scalability issues and training with large and extremely diverse datasets.
